:Most Alfarian's keep a small vegetable and herb garden during the short summers, and the city itself is home to a number of large greenhouses.  The region is suitable for animal herds, but the land is more productive as to cerel crops. They fish both casually and commercially, but most fish is brought in fresh to the city docks by the Rus and Bretons who are paid in grain.  Root crops are imported from Albion, vegetables from Telrae'dor, and fruit from as far as Zuben or Brenton, and nuts and spice from the southern desert.
