A selection of recommendations for all new players to RPCSS. This is a work in progress that will be updated as we go along.

  1. Make a point of looking to see which hexes in your area are wilderness, arable and impassable. Impassable hexes can not be traversed by an army. Wilderness hexes can be claimed by a city state, but do not count towards armies or court level. Resources can be found in arable and wilderness, but not impassable.
  2. Look at your armies, if you have access to them, and determine which armies you have and what units you have in each army. Remember infantry have better defense and knights better offense, this is a new change to the system.
  3. Look at your number of gold bars, and then go and figure out what your monthly costs are going to be for the number of fortifications, units and trade alliances you have going. This number is crucial to you keeping your estate afloat.
