Talk:Arcovia

From The Citadel

The Arcovia Player Team

The Arcovia player team is handpicked by Branwyn. This team's primary goal is to act as the antagonist of the sim plots lines generated by the players. These characters are played as alts with occasional cameo performances do not have access or control over the Arcovia faction in RPCSS so there is no chance of cheating or metagaming.

Guild Master
The guild master is a person who is totally loyal to Arcovia. They are responsible for giving the weekly/bi-monthly "Arcovia Report", acting as the judge if any court role-play is needed, or meeting with players who wish to tattle tale on another players. The guild master knows that he is the public head of the guild in Arcovia, but knows he is not the ultimate head. The actual leadership of the guild is managed by a very secret organization which directs the guilds larger plans.
Assistant
The guild master assistant is someone who is very proud of their position and a prudist moralizing fantatic who likes to spy on players and get them in trouble.
Guard A
Guard A is a member of the guild but has little real interest in the moralizing of the guild. He does his job and will look the other way when he can, but never if it will get himself in trouble. He's basically a good guy who might give a player a heads up if he felt he could safely.
Guard B
Guard B is a slime ball. He is a toady and a cheat. He will threaten players, take bribes, make up lies about players behavior and otherwise do everything he can to get ahead and fell important.
Doctor
The doctor is a true believer in Arcovia. He is a kind but highly moral man who was raised with the traditions of ethical and moral superiority. He will report anything that he feels is dangerous to the moral fiber of the culture.

From Wyn

I do not want to interfere with the player run plot lines. My goal here is to create the mystery of the guild, the potential danger of the guild, and to act as a foil for plot lines that need a nudge. The only regular event is a weekly/bi-weekly "report" from the guild master given at the steps of the Aviary. This reporter will include a pre-written list of fines, new laws, arrests and warning to the player base. The other players are expected to be at the reading of the report so it looks like we have an actual guild. Otherwise, the NPCs can be played occasionally to stir things up.

It is most important that we ADD to the role-play and not interfere or derail it.

Moral Compass

In addition to, "Within the city limits, the guild enforces its laws against information theft, intimidation, promiscuity, graft, and drugs."

  • The obviously manipulate the messages, when the can, for financial gain.
  • Control/Steal technological development so as to keep their dominant position.
  • Missionary Position only
  • Murder is illegal. But murder is defined as pre-planned murder. This is the middle ages, unplanned death isn't murder.
  • Adultery is punnishable.
  • A random rotating list of black market good, including things believed to be aphrodisiacs.

They already control the medical and communication knowledge base, but have not yet gained control of the other sciences such chemistry, astrology, metalsmithing, architecture, etc. Their targets for this includes the Frem, the Alfarians, the Euresu and the Zuberi. Its a mixed bag of stealing the information, recruiting scientists from other city states to Arcovia, or trying to stop developments they can't get their hands on.
