Initiative is a crucial element in turn-based strategy games. Initiative determines who gets to go first when determining action and resolution. Initiative is automatically and randomly rolled by RPCSS as part of end of turn. For example, if two armies are aiming for the same hex, the one with the better initiative will get to that hex first. This would make the second army the aggressor, and the first army the defender. Attack and defense values vary by army units.
